Amgen Tax Official Describes Importance Of Fully Describing Company, Transfer Pricing at Audit

An Amgen Inc. official March 1 suggested that it is best to take the time to fully describe a company’s transfer pricing to auditors rather that just lobbing a thick binder of documentation over the wall to the Internal Revenue Service when the documents are requested.
Amgen’s tax department produces picture- and chart-laden slides, tours of manufacturing plants, and offers interviews with senior personnel in numerous departments to explain the multinational biotechnology company’s intercompany pricing, according to Kevin O’Toole, Amgen’s executive director for tax.
